International Applied Perceptual Control Theory (PCT) Certification Conference held in Vancouver 1995. Above are the Senior Instructors of IAACT in 1995 at the inception of IAACT (Left to right) Shelley Brierley, Conference Chair (White Rock, British Columbia), Dianne Gossen (Saskatoon, Saskatchewan), Judith McFadden (Sydney, Australia) and Perry Good (North Carolina, USA).  PCT is a theory of human nature that provides a scientific explanation of behaviour and motivation. It helps us understand how we act continuously and purposefully at many levels to control our perception, achieving our goals and satisfying our needs in an ever-changing world.

Perceptual Control Theory (PCT)

We collectively believe:

  • All behaviour is purposeful
  • People are internally motivated
  • Individuals perceive the world differently
  • Improvement is achieved through effective self-evaluation
  • Strength and creativity come through systemic decision making
  • We are responsible to ourselves and the world community
